GITEX Future Stars

Oct 09, 2019 Venue: Dubai World Trade Centre Sharjah Business Women Council partnered with GITEX Future Star 2019 as its official Women In Tech partner, and sponsored ten SBWC members to participate as women-led tech start-ups. During its participation at the exhibition, SBWC hosted a variety of programmes, activities, workshops, a special edition of the SBWC Talks titled #ThinkFuture, and a pitch competition with Reyada and Ruwad. As a Women in Tech Partner, SBWC’s platform received a special visit by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Crown Prince of Dubai, where His Highness was briefed about SBWC’s initiatives and the participating start-ups. Several of our booths were also visited by His Excellency Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman of Sharjah’s Department of Government Relation. Sharjah Business Women Council was also delighted to celebrate the success of one of their participating start-ups, Adaptive Seat-Belt Based Safety System who received a $10,000 prize for winning the Best Emirati Startup award at Gitex Future Star Supernova challenge. GITEX Future Stars is the fastest growing Global Startup event in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. Sharjah Business Women Council was hosting for the second time as main partner for the “Women in Tech Partner”.

AZYAN Beauty, Fashion and Wellness Exhibition

Apr 18, 2019 Sharjah Business Women Council took part of Sharjah’s Azyan Exhibition, where it provided partial sponsorship to thirteen members, where they showcased their businesses, expanded their network and met with potential customers, buyers and business associates.

Azyan is Sharjah’s first and only exhibition that focuses on beauty, fashion and wellness, with an objective to bring start-ups, established businesses and experts under one roof.

GITEX Future Stars 2018

Sharjah Business Women Council was the official sponsor of GITEX Women in Tech at GITEX Future Star 2018, and also sponsored ten SBWC members to participate as women-led start-ups in non-traditional fields such as technology, energy and supply chain. During the course of the exhibition, with opportunity to participate at the pitch competition and received exposure from international media and met with potential investors.

Sharjah Bridal Fair 2018

May 03, 2018 Sharjah Business Women Council offered partial sponsorship to ten members, were they were able to showcase their businesses, build brand awareness, meet with potential customers and buyers, and network with possible business associates.

Annual Investment Meeting

Sharjah Business Women Council partnered with the Annual Investment Meeting, and sponsored four SBWC members to showcase their start-up businesses, build a network with potential associates, meet other service provider’s and gain access to coaching and mentorship opportunities. As a testament to the value and quality of their businesses, three of our sponsored start-ups were selected to participate in the conference pitch competition.

AIM Startup was launched in 2017 as an initiative of the UAE Ministry of Economy to connect promising startups with investors and business partners from other parts of the world— set in the heart of the UAE’s Annual Investment Meeting.

Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival

Sharjah Business Women Council participated in the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival as part of its mission to help advance women entrepreneurs in various sectors, where SBWC sponsored four women-led startups by its members.

The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival provided participants with the opportunity to meet with potential partners, mentors, investors, and offered special access to the most inspiring stories from industry leaders, founders and creatives.

Sharjah Business Women Council took part of the GITEX Technology Week as the main GITEX Women Innovation partner, where it sponsored 8 members in the GITEX Future Stars “Women Led Startups” category. SBWC’s participation in the exhibition aligned with its vision to support and promote women entrepreneurs and women integration in non-traditional fields such as technology, energy and supply chain as well as providing women access the market.

WomenSME Conference
